Here's how minefield damage is calculated:

First the game calculates a temporary damage factor, which is:

  • tdf=speed^2 * MinePower * ShipRadius^2 / (5000 * MinefieldRadius)
  • The minefield endurance (S7 in ICE) is then reduced by multiplying it with e^(-tdf/maxEndurance)
  • The reduction in endurance is the damage you receive.

What does all that mean?

1-Bigger models receive much more damage 2-Bigger minefields deliver less damage 3-Minefields with more endurance are more resistant to "thinning" 4-Endurance and MinePower (Damage in ICE) must be increased proportionally to keep the -amount/maxEndurance ratio meaningful

This damage is calculated during every update while you are in a minefield.
