This is (will be) the default keybinding for new players. It has been voted on by veteran players and replaces a very old and outdated default keybinding.
Overview
The File
Download AllegianceKeysBlackdutchie.zip
How to Install
- Extract the zip file
- Locate your /Allegiance directory
- You can get there quickly by right clicking "Microsoft Allegiance" in your Steam library.
- Open "Properties".
- In the "Local Files" Tab, click on "Browse Local Files".
- If you have already customized your keys, make a backup of your old inputmap1.mdl file.
- Put inputmap1.mdl into the /Allegiance/Artwork directory and replace the old file.
Controversial
- It has been argued that Shift-Space and Space should be switched. This would allow more control while boosting.
- This keybinding uses WAXD to sidethrust in the four directions. The argument over whether to use WASD instead, or not, was a heated one.
- Ctrl-C should switch probes/mines. However that is missing in the first version.
In the end, it is a personal preference. Customize the keys once you figure out what you like.
