Each different Core is effectively a 'mod' (not really though because there is no longer a baseline game to compare them to) and make Allegiance play differently - ships and strategies which are very powerful on one Core may be completely ineffective on another.

The core file is a small database, which contains all weapon, ship and station attributes. The core files use the file extension IGC.

Each different Core can be thought of as a 'gameplay mod' and make Allegiance play differently - ships and strategies which are very powerful on one Core may be completely ineffective on another.
