The Assistant Squad Leader (ASL) is the second-highest position within a squad, and are identified by a ^ token in front of their callsign. They are responsible for helping the Squad Leader (SL) in the management of the squad.

Every squad is run differently though, so a ASL's job may vary between squads. Some have just as much power as the SL in making decisions, whereas other squad's ASL only step in to help run the squad's business if the SL is absent.

Assistant Squad Leaders do share some common responsibilities however. Along with the Squad Leaders, the Assistant Squad Leaders:

  • Plan inter-squad matches in the Officer’s Club (a private forum on the FAO).
  • Have the ability to add or remove people from the squad roster.
  • Can send ASGS broadcasts to the entire squad.

The current SL and ASLs for each squad can be found on the ASGS Squad Page.
