How do I mute people?

To mute someone means to prevent their chats from showing up on your screen. You may want to do this if you find another player's chats annoying or distracting.

Note Muting the commander will get you booted sooner or later.

Muting a single player

  • When ingame, hit enter to open the chatscreen and type "!mute <callsign>", where '<callsign>' is the nick of the player whose chat you want to disable, exactly as it is displayed (i.e. including tokens, tags and numbers).
    • For example, if I wanted to mute AnnoyTeam@CDT-B(3) I would type:
!mute AnnoyTeam@CDT-B(3)
  • The command to enable a player's chat again is "!unmute <callsign>".
  • Alternatively, if you're in the game lobby, you can simply right-click a player's name and select 'mute'.

Muting the entire lobby

  • When ingame, you can mute everyone who is on NOAT (Not On A Team) by hitting Esc and selecting 'Game Options' -> 'Filter Chats from Lobby'
  • This is advantageous when the non-players are conducting a meandering conversation between themselves, cluttering the chat.
  • There are other filter options, such as muting chats sent to 'All'.

WARNING: If you mute the lobby you will be unable to receive any private messages from people in the lobby.
